It’s important to put the microscope in a metallic enclosure so it acts as a Faraday cage and blocks electromagnetic interference. MechRedPanda got a nice video take showing it.
I decided to go full Steve Jobs and try to fit everything in a small sexy aluminium box. It should block the noise, support it on top of magnets to isolate from mechanical vibrations, make it portable and super easy to market.
An interesting consequence is that the WiFi support requires some connection with the exterior. I plan to simply put the ESP32 C3 outside the box. In the Apple’s case with the iPhone they put a hole, which was ironically obstructed when people try to hold the phone to do calls 🤣.
Maybe in future versions will be 3D printed to save time drilling holes and soldering shielding walls, but the fact that the LiSPM doesn’t use a tripod configuration reduces the need for it greatly.
